Denmark will give the US sovereignty over parts of Greenland for free. This is a good article about it.

Its a lot better than owning all of Greenland. Trump got everything he wanted by playing hardball. Its the "Art of the Deal" on display. Greenland will be part of the Golden Dome defense system that Trump wants to build to protect the country.
