It really makes no sense to me that Denmark controls Greenland. They don't own it. They've never bothered to do anything there, like you said, so why be against what the US wants to do there? They'll use it to provide security for the US and other countries.

Its up to Greenlanders to decide what they'll do. If they're smart, they'll go with the US. Denmark gave them nothing.
