What do you think of Trump's tariffs on other countries? (Public Board)
I don't know the details of individual countries' trade situation with the US. So I can't comment on whether the tariffs applied by Trump in any given case are fair or not.
But I do know that in general a small tariff, say 10% but not a specific figure, can be beneficial to a country's given manufacturing industry. I have read that Trump's tariffs are computed to neutralise the trade deficit with the given country. People can have their opinion on that. I'm not against it.
Trump claims that this new arrangement will be good for Americans once things settle down. Whether or not he is proved correct over time, good on 'im for caring and for having a go. I hope it works for him, and for Americans. I hope he sets an example that all national leaders follow, namely to look after the people that pay your salary.
