Totally not an afterthought (Public Board)
Nah, I see why you'd say that but that was honestly not my intent, to downplay the verdict.
I was trying to give a 360 view of what seems to be affecting his base at this point. The trial is just one component.
I have mentally screened out the trial as a done deal - if the system and NYC courts are as corrupt as they seem, then it was inevitable that he'd be convicted.
Any voter in Trump's corner understands the fraudulent nature of the conviction and this simply mobilizes his base. More unfairness, more "if they can do this to billionaire Trump they can do this to anyone." That is the informed logical intelligent take.
The uninformed low IQ liberal take is that a felony conviction is perfectly valid especially against Orange Man even if no actual statute was broken.
In both cases the trial's results are amplified by each type's bias. But I don't have a bias as a Trump voter. He is simply the only choice if you want a country and that is perfectly logical.
