How I maintain intellectual integrity in discussions like this (Public Board)

Mainly:

I love principles - logical standards - not politicians.

I supported Trump when he appeared to be "one thing."

(only) Because he aligned mostly with principles I hold.

I have thoroughly flipped the bozo bit on Trump at this point because of his fraudulent conduct of the presidency: wars, inflationary policies, blindness on many issues, his constant pep talk bullshit, his 30+ reversals on an Iranian peace deal.

Trump today, 7/1/26, is not the same Trump I was lead to believe was running in November 2024.

I apply the same standards to myself:

I AM CONDITIONED TO SOME DEGREE OF SOCIALISM. GIMME MY MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY!! I EARNED IT AND IF SUBSIDIES FROM TAX ARE NECESSARY I STILL WANT IT.

(sic: SS and medicare are the biggest components of US spending. I'm breaking the balls of workers today and I don't care.)

I WANT MY HOUSE TO KEEP GOING UP AND UP IN VALUE. SCREW NEW HOME BUYERS, THEY CAN PAY.

(sic: I purchased my Eisenhower era ranch for $X in 1993 and now is worth approximately $X * 3.8.)

I'm saying that the stuff that is in my personal interest at my age and in my circumstances to keep going - housing inflation and entitlement spending - is destructive to the common good.

I cop to that, I admit that.
