The Pope is from Chicago, just like Obama. Perhaps Trump sees a connection? Anyone remotely connected to Obama (or Biden) gets under his skin by default. He even took credit for Leo becoming Pope by saying "it happened because I was President".

It's hilarious (and petty at the same time) that Trump mentioned inviting the Pope's brother to the White House and saying that he's MAGA.
