I think the optics are very relevant. Its unfortunate that Pretti was killed but it turns out he really wasn't such a nice young man. He was an anti-ICE agitator and it wasn't his first encounter with ICE.

According to CNN, Pretti broke a rib after getting tackled by agents as he attempted to impede an immigration operation just one week before his death."

Nice young men don't interfere with ICE when they're trying to remove illegal alien criminals from the community. Sure, maybe Pretti was nice when he wasn't fighting the government, but I see him as just another liberal scumbag.

What ICE is doing is necessary but its really hard to look at the street riots going on there. Its ugly. If Walz doesn't come through, Trump could use the Insurrection Act but he's hesitant to do it. Its easier to force Walz to do what he wants.
