We have a lot of big, overcrowded, over-built cities in northern NJ, but I rarely travel there. I can't stand all the traffic and the crowds. I'm just not a city person.

You're exactly right about NIMBYism. There are many elites that live out in my neck of the woods and they won't allow any building that would change the character of the area. I don't care for the rich liberals that live out here but the rest of the people are just plain country folks that are very relatable. You wouldn't believe its NJ.
