Universal basic income wouldn't work for highly trained people like that. They're dedicated professionals that want to make a difference in the world. They need a purpose in life. I think most people need purpose in life to be happy. Being on the dole isn't enough.

Maybe UBI works in the ghetto, but outside of that no. I'm sure people that want to work will find other jobs, but maybe not in their field of study or interest.
