This is so true "Russians are indeed weird. It's probably the entire Slavic thing... a depressing fatalistic world view that's shared as a culture." Even Russian women have that depressing demeanor. I think Unix always thought he was doomed and there was no hope. He couldn't see any other way in life. It was pre-ordained like you said.

I liked Unix. He was okay, but definitely Slavic. Sometimes he didn't have much to say and other times he would post a really thoughtful post. He was just himself, kind of awkward when communicating sometimes.
