All jawboning to appease misled/disappointed voters.

Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

For this to happen at all, firstly a complainant would need to apply to the US Supreme Court for a certificate (declaring that the president-elect was in fact disqualified from being inaugurated as president).

Secondly, the applicant would need to persuade the court that the applicant had standing,

Thirdly, the applicant would need to persuade the court that the office of president was included in the phrase "any office" despite the explicit namings of Senator, Representative and elector (IOW any office means any other office below those named).

Fourthly, the applicant would need to persuade the court that either an insurrection or a rebellion had occurred, and that Trump had "engaged" in that insurrection or rebellion.

Despite all the frothing from ideological opponents, Trump told people to be peaceful.

Alternatively, fourthly, the applicant would need to persuade the court that a named party was an enemy of the US, and that aid or comfort was given to that party, and that Trump was a giver of that aid or comfort.

A majority of the court is not going to be persuaded of all of the things.
