- Heads being caved in at polling places in fights between angry MAGA and right wing types and suspected illegals. IE, voters may get harassed to say whether they habla ingles' and if they don't, they will be interrogated whether they are actual citizens or not. If they can't produce some ID they will be blocked from voting. Cops will be very busy.

These illegals won't be turning up to the polling place, their mail-in ballot papers will be collected by and filled in by and submitted by Democratic Party operatives.

That's how the Democrats got Biden in. That was their answer to the unexpected Clinton loss.

Absentee voting is an absolute perversion of the voting process. Instead, a person absolutely must turn up in person to the polling place to cast their vote.

Yes, there will be some people who legitimately cannot present to the polling place on the day. People who are overseas. People who are incapacitated. The total number of these people is small and a legitimate voting process must guarantee that the percentage of absentee votes is small enough to not influence the overall election result. The US and the Aus Constitutions and the Constitution of any country which takes itself seriously as free must enshrine this principle.

Here, it is Commonwealth (national) law both that every adult citizen is on the electoral roll and that a citizen who lacks an exemption must present to a polling place on a Commonwealth election day (actually voting is optional but having your name marked off and receiving a ballot paper is mandatory). From the US point of view, the huge advantage of this particular setup is that bad-faith actors have no names on the electoral roll that they can use to "vote" on behalf of. In the 2020 US presidential election, millions of ballot papers were collected and filled out not by the person for whom the ballot paper was intended but by an operative who completed the ballot paper in favour of Biden. And thus, Biden got the most votes. Here, that is not possible.

Unfortunately, we are going down that road and the number of absentee votes is increasing markedly to the point where it is becoming significant in terms of being able to affect the overall election result. All sorts of excuses have been legislated in recent years allowing people to not present at a polling place on the day. Electronic voting has been trialled in recent elections and those trials will increase in size (NO!). People may vote fourteen days before the election day (NO!). People with the flimsiest of excuses may vote by post (NO!).

If Americans do nothing else, reduce mail-in voting to the barest reasonable minimum.
