I finally got my laptop connected to the camp wifi Saturday afternoon after having arrived Sunday. Tech Support was the most useless, knowledgeless bunch of fuckwits I have ever dealt with. Didn't even know how to reliably receive screenshots from me, and unable/unwilling to confirm reception or non-reception of screenshots even after the fourth go at sending them and specifically asking them to inform me in fifteen minutes' time if the screenshots had not arrived this time. So the fifth go failed but no word from them.

In the end, I solved the problem myself. Went into Wagga on the Saturday afternoon and bought some computer hardware.
