Trump should have known Iran would never make a deal. He got played. As long as the IRGC exists in Iran, they will never give in. He has destroyed their military might and economy. He has been controlling the traffic in the Strait of Hormuz so they can't ship their oil through there, but the IRGC will never give up. The only way to win that war is to get rid of them and push regime change. That is no easy task as they are spread out within Iran and its way more involvement than Trump wanted.

The new Congress will absolutely not fund the war in Iran, so Trump should try to resolve it by the end of the year. I think the existing Congress will provide funding for whatever else is necessary going forward.
