Yes I imagine they would be able to tell that you weren't sincere. Once they decide that, presumably things will go very poorly for you. :)

Perhaps say well what are the good things about Islam, maybe you're right. And later down the track say well I'm not convinced sorry. But I dunno whether maybe they would simply say shut up and convert now or else.
