Watch CNN for investigation of a certain deplorable we knew (Public Board)

This is about Dictum, see thread:

https://deplorablecoder.club/index.php?id=33939

On my Facebook I received a message request yesterday.

The name was Isabelle Chapman. I thought it was another "hi my panties are wet for you" SPAM.

Google that name. She is an investigative crime journalist for CNN.

She addressed me by name, said she understood that I was a friend of Ilya B. and that she was investigating the FBI shooting in Hernando, MS.

And asked if I would call her to provide some background information. The FB message provided contact information (phone number, email, etc) that precisely jibed with her public profiles, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc etc. She posts a phone number for story tips.

So I was contacted personally by CNN about him.

I sure jumped on that N O T

And it's not about CNN hate. I'm actually very happy that the story may be surfaced on a broad national level. I just don't want to allow ANYONE to connect the dots in any way whatsoever back to me for anything about him.

I last corresponded publicly with him, and parted ways on bad terms, well over a year before his demise. August '23, right after he was melting down over justifying 90 Day Fiance's (he was big into "mail order brides"). And while I knew he was anti Putin and pro Ukraine I never dug that deep into what he might or would do, and BOY am I glad I didn't press him.

So, just telling the gang here what's up. This is one "opportunity to serve" I'm gonna ignore.

They would get nothing substantive from me that they could use anyway. And I hate to talk to someone and tell them that he was deeply (whatever disorder you could imagine.)

You made the right decision not to contact her. I hope she doesn't keep pursuing you and forgets about you. You weren't involved in his life. I did Google her name. She's your typical media leftie looking to build a story.

I'm glad someone is investigating what happened to him. Something isn't right there.

Ehhhhh... not always about the politics. At least my decision is .. not.

The fact that it was CNN was my absolute very least consideration.

Ilya's shooting happened in October, well before Trump was in office.

I take it on good faith that they are making an honest attempt to investigate the story. I don't want to be quoted and I don't want to be in any way considered in the know about his motives.

The fact that she's contacted me indicates (IMO) that the FBI is saying nothing about the case, or else they have no one else that has any knowledge of his thinking. And I have no reason to contribute to any narrative that this reporter would want to construct. Among other reasons he never ever mentioned any other social contacts who weren't on our board.

Guy I knew remotely who was emotionally unstable gets shot 954 times by the FBI. I had messaged him occasionally a year before. What could possibly go wrong for me for getting involved answering questions? :-(

I think she'll forget about it and move on. I don't see being stalked over this. I bet in a situation like this the response rate is abysmal. A reporter asking a question is not a subpoena.

If you do hear back from her.....

Just tell her that you're only willing to talk about the H1B problem. You'll never hear from her again.

That's one topic the media will never report on.

I notice nothing on Newsmax, Fox News, News Nation, or OAN about the case.

Are they all about only being right-wing and not pursuing other stories? IMO yes.

Although News Nation is closer to a mainstream outlet in terms of diversity of content. They covered things like the East Palestine chemical disaster in some detail, and they have recycled mass media journalists working there. Fox News is like an extended TimCast with less diversity and more reporters.

CNN seems to be pursuing this case. Credit to CNN. Despite everything else they have done.

We'll see if any coverage that emerges from CNN has any teeth against the FBI, or if they dismiss the events to treat Ilya like a deranged psychopath who deserved to be gunned down.

And one more thing...

I heard about East Palestine on OAN, but it was on their Real America show with Dan Ball and not their regular news. I don't see Ilya's story as right or left wing really, but because the FBI was involved, and maybe f*cked up, it wasn't reported on. We'll probably never know the real truth.

Well you know what they say, you don't know how distorted the news is until you've been witness to a story.

No doubt, anything you did say would be twisted. Best to keep out of it :)

No smiley from me. You're dead-nuts correct. If I stated that he had some personal struggles that would be amplified as THE REASON and the FBI would be absolved.

Better to leave my contribution in the default setting (IE, "off" or binary 0.)

And honestly, I have no real positives about him to add which would not matter anyway for such an event. He wasn't a bad guy, but his code of personal morality and conduct and his life choices totally confused me. It was always like I'd write him "dude, WHY?" and he basically would make some statement about the inevitable misery of life itself.

He's right in a way but do everything you can to avoid misery, "brah".

And just maybe in JoFrance's take that it's CNN therefore deserves no help - they would be most likely of any news caster to frame Ilya negatively in order to justify the FBI. So I won't contribute to what will be in partial bad faith.

Ilya was always a miserable man with lots of personal problems. I felt sorry for his personal struggles. I think you have the right take on what CNN was trying to do with whatever you said to them. They have a story narrative in mind so they'll twist your words to fit with their narrative.

I'm glad you won't contribute. Its better not to be involved.

We don't know what the outcome of anything I would say would be, but I don't trust CNN given their continual fellation of the deep state.

Honestly

We don't know what Ilya was involved in either but it probably wasn't good, all things considered.
