The MAGA Trump Revolution (Public Board)
This will be the most transformative period and administration in American history, bar nothing.
I have a question for y'all. Do any of you have any feeling whatsoever that you can keep up with the news cycle and the scope of what the administration is currently doing?
I simply can't. MAGA loyalists, appointees, and deputized officials are cloning how the left has operated. Balls to the absolute wall focus, determination, zeal, unabashed and unashamed fealty toward the ideology. On many multiple fronts of action.
Trump is now succeeding because IMO he has done what he failed to do in his first term:
- Pick truly loyal executives and managers, no fucking GD'd rats
- Deputize and empower every proxy to carry out his objectives
- Apparently, place no limits on the actions of his proxies. Don't dial it back, don't avoid confrontation with X, DO go there, etc.
I believe all of that was completely missing from his first term. He did not have the right people and he seemed to rarely delegate in 2016-2020. In Trump's first term he hogged all of the attention but didn't seem to have any proxies speaking on his behalf as he does now on many fronts. Actually his first term disappointed me greatly but I still believed he had the right stuff. He wasn't delegating effectively and that is a key business executive skill.
I believe what has been completely missing from US conservatism for decades is the sense of righteousness, purpose and mission. I think the last "real" conservative in a true blue sense was Barry Goldwater, who was kind of nuts and wanted nuclear war on our terms. Reagan captured some of that spirit but did the "team America world police" thing. And the right was totally hijacked starting with Bush 41 into being the pasty faced, milquetoast forced bipartisan right that we had up until Trump.
Whereas the Democrats have leaned absolutely into all of their causes generally with no major disagreements on large scale platforms. The MAGA right is now mirroring that dedication and sense of mission.
The media was universally mocking and laughing at Trump in his first term as an orange clown. I notice that what the TV news is doing is reporting by selectively picking to cover "spot" challenges to administration actions (IE, highlighting activist judges blocking some action) but never, ever giving any time to the reason why the administration is doing things. Even if they don't want to endorse admin actions they could report what the admin "wants". But they don't even want the ideas articulated clearly. The TV news wants anything the admin does to disappear in a fog of general disapproval.
And there are many lawsuits and threats against the correct culpable people. Supposedly criminal defense attorneys in DC have tripled their rates due to demand, and the biggest search terms in the beltway include "RICO". So the administration is being extremely effective.
Basically what MAGA is now is what it has to be in order to rebalance the country's political order. Dems want to crush anything truly patriotic and good about the US. MAGA wants to absolutely crush the Dem way of thinking.
