Jimmy Carter's funeral today.

This guy is a twit gamer but his stuff comes up in my feed all the time and he usually has something interesting to show.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdQ1wGNzkL0

Trump telling jokes as Obama smiles at them. (at a funeral)

Bush Jr belly tapping Obama with familiarity.

Mr. and Mrs. Harris with hot or stone cold pokers up their asses ignoring the hoi polloi sitting behind them.

These people are all buddies. :-D

We're all getting played

LOL....I was thinking they were all enemies.

I was surprised by the rapport between Trump and Obama. The rest of them looked so uncomfortable.

Bush Jr totally ignored Trump when he walked in. Funny how Gore was seated directly behind him.

And yeah, that was hilarious that Harris and her husband blew off everyone, including the Clintons who sat directly behind them.

Pence's wife blew off Trump and Melania

Jill Biden wouldn't acknowledge Harris or vice versa LOL

There was speculation that Mrs. Obama wasn't there because she didn't want to sit next to Trump LOL.

BTW it's crazy to think that Trump and Dan Quayle are the same age and Quayle became VP 36 years ago while Trump is just now starting Act 2.

I heard that "Mrs. Obama" has a permanent erection these days but perhaps that is just gossip. But if it's true then that might explain why he didn't turn up.

What a laugh riot! They all hate each other for various reasons, but all of them hate Trump. You can feel the tension just looking at their faces. The best one was when Kamala turned around to give Obama the death stare for laughing with Trump. That is just priceless. Kamala's husband wouldn't dare utter a word to anyone. His lip was zipped.

Pence and his petty wife couldn't even extend common courtesies with Trump to make it look good. I bet SNL will have a ball with this. It would be a great cold open act.

Jill Biden and Kamala despise each other and it shows. Really, they should not be sitting next to each other. Its too dangerous.

LMAO

by IT guy, Monday, January 13, 2025, 23:54 (224 days ago) @ JoFrance

That was hilarious!

BTW couldn't help but notice that Hilary actually spoke to Bill at around the 42 second mark. I didn't know those two were still on speaking terms. :)

Yeah. Until recent times, who would have ever thought there could be so much comedy at a funeral?

At least Pence stood up and shook Trump's hand. His wife totally blew him and Melania off. I bet she's jealous of Melania.

I thought the beef between Jill and Kamala was just made up by conservative media but apparently not! You could cut the tension with a knife lol.

Even Bill Clinton was not his usual affable self. Hillary wouldn't let him. She was ice cold lol.

Bill and Hillary are a political couple that has always tried to keep up appearances, no matter what. Pence is a Judas. I think he was a deep state asset that played a big roll in sabotaging Trump's first term, all while claiming he was so pious. His wife is a phoney.

Jill hates Kamala because she was part of the coup against Joe. Jill enjoyed being the president behind the scenes until Kamala came along and ruined it all. Jill was perfectly happy propping up Joe. I think Obama got stuck sitting next to Trump after Michelle didn't show up. He kept up appearances too, but didn't like it at all. He didn't want to face Trump, I'm sure, and would've loved it if Michelle came to sit between them.

These people are just awful human beings. I'm glad Dick Cheney was absent. He's got such a miserable mug.

The Way I see Mike Pence as a Christian

I've sized him up. He is a cooker cutter born again fundie.

Mike P is actually very similar to legions of Christians that are well regarded and upheld in our society.

With his faith uppermost in his mind as a constant presence he always considers himself only answering to a higher calling.

He has conditioned his mind to think this way in every instance in life. So, for instance, if there is a conflict between what his "boss" (the POTUS) expects and what he believes is higher, more noble or more truthful or more correct, he will probably subvert his boss. Without even saying that he is doing so or attempting to negotiate.

In a way it's admirable in a certain context - a man with rock hard principles.

However, fundies and born agains operate in a way similar to Islamicists: "infidels" (IE non born agains) are not entitled to the truth. This has been highlighted about Muslim Jihaadists: they'll lie in any way possible to defeat the infidel.

So he'll fuck you over and feel principled and holy about it while doing so and consider it your due. I've known a LOT of Christians who operate like this. IE, contracts and agreements don't count.

MP basically considered himself above Trump. And his mentality that his own convictions are more important than the job basically puts him in the same camp as Mark Milley and other pieces of shit on the left who subverted Trump. They did so because they're all evil. Pence does so because he's so "God blesset" righteous, not.

I looved Tucker Carlson handing Mike Pence his ass on a platter during a live event where Pence considered the problems of Americans "not my problem".

Fuck that guy.

With all that being said, he has the demeanor of a typical politician. He comes across as polished as opposed to a sleazebag. His debate with Kamala Harris in 2020 comes to mind. He destroyed her in the debate but he had this "holier than thou" persona.

That being said, this is my favorite Mike Pence moment:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wm-NtMkqz8

Trump argues with Pelosi and Schumer and Pence sits there motionless with a stone-faced expression. Pence's behavior is just as amusing as the others in a different way.

^ I knew exactly what confrontation you were describing. I think that meeting probably cemented most of the persecution of Trump for the next four years just through pure spite from Democrats.

Mike Pence looks like a textbook description of absolutely useless. Not clueless, since at least he appears to understand the anger in the room. But he has nothing to add or give or provide. A good metaphor for his vice presidency.

Trump fucked up big time selecting him.

I believe Pence was Trump's attempt to provide an olive branch to the brain dead segment of the old RINO establishment that prefers people like Mitt Romney because they are empty vessels and have no real principles and don't lead. It really didn't work that well and Pence was during his presidency not exactly a liability but not in any way an asset either. Like most RINOs he just breathed and took up space.

Agreed

by IT guy, Thursday, January 16, 2025, 22:41 (221 days ago) @ Cornpop Sutton

Also, Pence doesn't have much of a personality, which might be another reason why Trump picked him. Trump didn't want his VP to outshine him.

Vance is cool. He is from my exact (I mean within 15 mi.) area.

Trump took Ivanka and Jared's advice and chose Pence. Trump actually wanted Chris Christie which would have been a bad choice too. Trump's family thought Pence would bring a balance to Trump's demeanor. Ivanka thought he was a good man but he was really a rat. Really, Trump made a lot of bad choices in his first term because he didn't understand the politics of the uniparty.

Don't fundies regard the words of the bible as higher than anything else?
If so, they're objectively wrong in the behaviours you describe because those cannot be squared with "love thy neighbour as thyself"

^ Let's just say that fundies aren't exactly consistent and the behavior is a fusion of different things they interpret from the bible. Basically most hard core Christians I've experienced are as opportunistic as anyone else, just with a different style.

He's a disgusting human being. Yeah, he's got that typical pious snob attitude that I find repulsive. Its the "born again" vibe. They're holier than thou and make sure you know that.

He's a lying snake that hides behind his religion. Think back to how he lied about Mike Flynn and his conversations with the Russian ambassador. He was the ultimate saboteur because people thought he was a good, honest man. You're so right about the born agains. They're so righteous they're willing to sabotage to get the outcome they think is best, for God of course.

I remember seeing when Tucker Carlson exposed the real Mike Pence. If Pence really gave a shit about the American citizens he would've contested the 2020 election. He'll never live it down that he didn't.

That's exactly right. He didn't care and certified a fraudulent election. Whether he was a coward or doing the deep state's bidding, we'll never know. One thing I remember from that time is after Pence certified the election someone came up to him and handed him a coin of some kind and a handshake. I never read anything about what that coin was. Some people said it was a challenge coin, but why?

I never saw any mention of it again. No idea what it was all about.

I bet that he felt that he made the right decision at the time. Now that Trump is headed back to the White House, knowing it could have been him going instead (after Trump won in 2020), he may having some cognitive dissonance.

Bill and Hillary are a political couple that has always tried to keep up appearances, no matter what.

I would love to be a fly in their house. I bet she constantly nags and hen pecks him.

Pence is a Judas. I think he was a deep state asset that played a big roll in sabotaging Trump's first term, all while claiming he was so pious. His wife is a phoney.

True! Perhaps he was working against Trump all along. His wife is rude!

Jill hates Kamala because she was part of the coup against Joe. Jill enjoyed being the president behind the scenes until Kamala came along and ruined it all. Jill was perfectly happy propping up Joe.

All these people hate each other, and they were united against Trump until he beat them. Now they can barely stand to look at each other.

I think Obama got stuck sitting next to Trump after Michelle didn't show up. He kept up appearances too, but didn't like it at all. He didn't want to face Trump, I'm sure, and would've loved it if Michelle came to sit between them.

I wonder if Obama and Michelle are having marriage problems. It wouldn't surprise me if he tried to pressure her into running and she refused, which may have upset him.

These people are just awful human beings. I'm glad Dick Cheney was absent. He's got such a miserable mug.
