David DePape, the man on trial in the attack on Paul Pelosi in his home, testified that a steady diet of right-wing conspiracy theories led him to a plan to take down prominent government figures.
On Tuesday, DePape’s testimony painted a worldview consumed by conspiracy theories that led him down a path of alleged violence. He said he watched YouTube videos and listened to hours of podcasts from right-wing figures like Glenn Beck and Tim Pool, CBS News reported. He testified that he became interested in right-wing conspiracy theories after learning about Gamergate,
The reality most likely is that Paul Pelosi, alcoholic w drug issues, was cruising for a gay date and had DePape meet him at his house. The "date" went wrong, police were called, and then...
I bet DePape was sternly told that he had better confess to a concocted story about being a redpilled nutjob, or else he would suicide himself in jail waiting on trial.
Nothing about the crap that DePape cited was new or in any way compelling to a leftie. Allegedly DePape lived in a hippie group house in Berkeley.
I can readily see this trial testimony as an opportunity by TPTB to smear the right in order to kill the story and neutralize the unsavory part of it.
