Karen Pence was absolutely rude to the Trumps at Carter's funeral. Its possible she pushed him to accept that award. She's smiling, he is not. He knows what he did. He did not have to certify the election on that day and could have allowed several states that questioned their vote count integrity to resolve their issues. As long as the election was certified before inauguration day, it was all good.
