Merry Christmas! (Public Board)

It's Christmas Eve, my FIFO job is stopped for the Christmas break, the missus and I are back from touring Lockhart and surrounds (she drove down to pick me up and we booked a cabin to do the touring from), I'm taking an additional week's leave on top of the two weeks industry shut down, and today I'm going to have a lazy day, unsuccessfully :) So Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas, ndo! Thats a nice long break to enjoy the nice weather you have this time of year. Just for comparison, today the temperature where I live was 4 degrees Farenheit (-15.5C) when I woke up. I have about 4 inches of very frozen snow on the ground. Its pretty brutal but we just make a nice warm fire in the fireplace.

My family is getting together on Christmas Eve at my brother's house. It'll be nice to see them but I'm looking forward to being with my husband on Christmas day at home. I'll make us a nice dinner and he can make the fire. Its all good. The main thing is to be with the ones you love at Christmas.

I bet it was beautiful touring Lockhart. I read its very scenic, so I'm sure you had a good time. I bet you're going to enjoy your time off most of all. You'll get used to being lazy. Relax and refresh.

-15 is beyond my comprehension. My experience is limited to a couple below zero at worst. OTOH I have always assumed that people who live in the cold have the buildings and the heating and the clothes that are appropriate for it.

The Riverina region is largely dead flat. There are outcrops (eg the massive rock called The Rock, also another one called Galore Hill) and areas of small hills. Lots of flooding and very fertile. Beautiful countryside, yes.

Merry Christmas!

Even if you're equipped to deal with the cold, sometimes it isn't enough when its really cold outside. I have oil heat, but on real cold nights we need the fire too and sometimes a space heater. I live in the mountains and it gets very cold up here.

I bet The Riverina is very lush and beautiful. The Rock looks like a fun place to visit. I looked it up. I love those small emus. They're so cute.

Same to you all

(you are my friends... right? lol)

I had one fuck of a year. Cancer and then a major heart problem between my wife and I.

Hoping that things calm down for us personally in 2025.

Wishing everyone here health, safety, spiritual progress, and wealth.

Best wishes to my friends here

This is such a great place to come, Cornpop, so we all love you here. I know you've been going through hard times personally this year. Its awful to have health problems because it takes such a mental toll as well. I think you've been through the worst though, so things can only get better.

I wish the same thing for you in the new year. I think 2025 will be great for everyone. Maybe it'll be a little chaotic but we need the shakeup.
