I laughed when I read this. It is so disingenuous, it's shameful.

It's taken from the executive summary of the chapter evaluating climate models in the IPCC 5th Assessment Report. I won't start on models honest! but I will say that unlike you and me who would "evaluate models" by subtracting the observed temperature from the calculated temperature at numerous points along the time-axis, they "evaluate models" by comparing them to the models used in the 4th Assessment Report!! I shit you not. Unsurprisingly, they evaluate the new models as being better than the old models. They don't say the new models aren't very good at all.

They don't say no-one knows much about cloud processes. They don't say the models are so poor they disagree badly with each other. NOTE that they do bury these two facts in subordinate clauses within a sentence that extols their very high confidence in such-and-such. Very high confidence is a good thing, right?! Isn't it?! Well when you parse it, the such-and-such is actually a statement of the bleeding obvious. Expressing very high confidence in the bleeding obvious is the height of sophistry.

Everyone involved in the climate hysteria should be thrown in a very large pit.

- An ideological position statement presented in bad faith as though it's rigorous serious scientific discourse that serious scientists might debate, discuss or form opinions on.

- When actually it's self contradicting nonsensical bullshit written to be deliberately almost impossible to understand and is not meant to be coherent to anyone in the sciences much less anyone else.

- When something is stated this obtusely it's immediately taken by the small brained to be demonstrating impressive mental acumen. Sic: if the normie, the IQ 100 white collar citizen, reads this, his brain shuts down and he assumes that the writer knows best.

In other words it communicates nothing, it's meant only to be a snow job, and therefore it fulfills its purpose.

I didn't even have to read the entire post through. I observed how you set up the post, what you concluded, and I simply glanced at the "academic" drivel you copied. It was completely obvious what game they are playing.

Sophistry? More like how virtually everything is decided these days by institutions. Climate change is a more sciencified version of the government stating that your Facebook opinion should get you jail time if a bunch of white people decides that it harms brave brown people of uncertain national origin.

This continual triumphalism of the overt lie is the background noise of our era.

I'm personally more interested in the recent (maybe current) active shooter situation along a major N-S highway (I-75) in London, Kentucky where this evening, a lunatic hiding in the woods along the highway has been shooting at drivers by through the windshield and has injured and/or killed several. In a different year it might have been the missus and me on our way to points south for a short vacation.

Sic: the climate sophistry won't kill me that quickly, but a nut job driven over the edge by today's world may end me quickly. I'm in dread for our very lives, personally. The intellectual masturbation of the establishment is a secondary matter to me.

They really, really want people to believe we have a climate emergency because a lot of dishonest people are making a ton of money by scaring people about the climate. Take Al Gore for example. He is a multi-millionaire now after pushing his "Inconvenient Truth" movie and climate lies.

Young people who don't know any better believe this BS. Some of them think the world will come to an end soon if we don't get off fossil fuels right now. Some of them won't have kids because they think the world is ending soon anyway. I sincerely hope they wake up one day and realize the climate change scare is all government/media propaganda. Its a new way to take your money and they get rich.

Yes we need to get into the schools and reassure kids that it's not nearly as bad as they think. Here we have schoolkids taking time off school to attend protests. Who the hell even permits this? The school principals and the education departments, of course. Shouldn't happen. And of course the teachers shouldn't be alarming the kids. Even if it was all true.
