He has endorsed Kamala. Lord help us. There is still the possibility they have some kind of open convention to choose someone else but that seems like a slippery slope.

In some states, the filing deadline is before the DNC. They have to formally choose the nominee something like Aug 7.
They will probably do a virtual nomination for Kamala or whoever in early August before the deadline. Curiously, Obama did not endorse Kamala. The Clintons did endorse her.
"Everybody endorses Kamala" probably was the deal Biden made when he dropped out. A contested nomination at this point would be a PR nightmare. The only open question left is who gets picked as VP candidate.
As a practical matter, I don't see any outcome where Trump doesn't win easily. Even if they do another assassination, then JD Vance wins.
I'm sure Biden named his terms for getting out, but it was clear that the party bosses wanted him out. The Democrat party wants the open convention, not Kamala. This article from Obama shows that the party will pick the next nominee and challenge Kamala. The Democrats are a disaster. Who's on first?
Not many people would want to be Kamala's VP. I thought Pete Buttigieg might be the best choice for her. He's gay and believes in racial equity. They probably both agree that roads are racist.

Mass rioting and protest.
Meanwhile the RNC convention was a massive mutual hug fest and totally transparent.
Even the way they try to control the picking of their candidates makes them slimy.
I hope they do have mass rioting and protests. No matter what happens, Dems will portray their convention and candidates as a magnificent success.
The RNC convention was about the real America most people can relate to.
They have to pick the nominee before the DNC, because some states have a filing deadline before the DNC.

If the nominee is Harris, Pete B sounds like a probably choice. The governors in the midwest that are rumored to being her VP may not want to be a part of that ticket. If so, Pete B could make a suitable scapegoat. That is if they don't fix the election again.
Michele Obama has said she's not running. I can't imagine anyone wanting to be Kamala's VP. She's condescending and nasty. The only man that I thought would be able to fill that role is Pete B. He's gay and would be the most likely to tolerate her personality.
If the Dems try to replace Kamala at the top of the ticket now, it will get ugly fast.

Did you ever see Pete's husband? He's one of those nasty gay men who is very demanding and whiney, just like Kamala. His name is Chasten and that fits him perfectly. Pete is used to being abused, I'm sure.
