VP (Public Board)

There's been a lot of chatter on Ben Carson as of late, which was a surprise to me since he has been out of the spotlight for awhile.

I was hoping Trump would pick him in 2016. I've been a fan of Carson ever since the 2016 campaign when he ran for President. I think this is the moment that the two became friends:

Carson was in an embarrassing situation and rather than walk past him with a stupid look on his face like Jeb! and Ted Cruz, Trump waited like a gentleman until Carson's name was called. And they say that Trump has no decorum.

While others have turned on Trump, Carson has been loyal to him this entire time.

Not the most exciting guy in the room but he is intelligent and might bring Trump some of the black vote. I think he'd be a better choice than Tim Scott. There's a lot of talk about Byron Donalds but I don't really know much about the guy.

There was talk of Tulsi Gabbard for awhile but I haven't really heard much about her lately. Apparently she could bring him some Democrat votes with her being a former Democrat.

Any thoughts on who Trump should pick to maximize his chances of winning?

That video was interesting. The announcers forgot to call Ben Carson's name. Ben Carson wound up just standing there. The other candidates just walked by but Trump decided to wait with Ben Carson.

This was before Trump was the frontrunner for the nomination, BUT he was the #1 draw for TV ratings for the debates.

I like Ben Carson too even tho he's a bit whack. But the entire media, right and left, steadfastly ignores the guy.

I actually see it as racism in action: he's a completely moderate black guy who has some common sense ideas. The media wants to depict all blacks in a political extreme direction and he doesn't fit those preconceptions.

Yeah the media tends to be indifferent toward him and when they do give him publicity, they try to make him look bad but don't really have much to go on. I remember seeing a clip of him on "The View" awhile back and they of course showed their disgust toward him.

Ben Carson is such a classy guy and he's very smart. Undoubtedly, he would be very loyal to Trump and work with him to fix the country. He would've been a better choice for Trump in 2016, but his qualities as a healer and man of faith would greatly benefit this country if he was VP.

I remember that moment at the debate and thought Trump made a loyal friend forever because of what he did. He really diffused the situation and put Carson at ease. Its a side of Trump that many people overlook.

Carson is very low-key, but maybe that's what Trump wants.

Did Trump pick him? I'm good with that.

Technically, Trump doesn't get to pick VP. The other delegates at the convention pick the VP. But a VP picked over the objections of the President would be really rare.

Yeah I think him being low key works to his advantage as far as a VP goes as Trump doesn't want his VP to overshadow him.

There is a lot of talk about J.D. Vance being chosen as VP. I like what he's done in the Senate and would hate to lose him there. I think if Trump chose him as VP there would always be a competition between them. Maybe that's good or not.

I don't know much about Vance tbh. Will have to look him up.

I have been hearing a lot about this Byron Donalds guy. I watched a youtube video the other day with him speaking and he seemed to make a lot of sense.

I like Vance as a Senator, but don't know if he's a good fit with Trump as a VP. I know Vance wrote "Hillbilly Elegy" about how he grew up, and it was a best-seller. I think he could run on his own platform but you never know. Trump did say he wants a fighter in a VP and Vance will do that.
