We took a vacation trip in West Va. in 2011 in the Potomac Highlands area (the ski resort region not far from DC - Seneca Rocks, etc.). We were hiking on the afternoon of August 23 and we experienced the earthquake centered in Mineral, Virginia when were hiking. We both felt like we wobbled for a second which was the moment of the quake. When we got back to our room in the lodge the TV was lit up with media stories about this earthquake. We were in the woods away from any buildings or people so we didn't get feedback from others at that exact moment.
