There is some discussio in that link about people saying its not that, it has to do with the shortage of coins. Blah, blah.

Considering the sheer number of corporate pandering to BLM this would not surprse me in the least. I see Old Navy has full blown anti-white commercials on TV right now.

I was shitposting. I found this being discussed on a FB group.

The BLM line item is equal to the < $1.00 change that you'd receive at the cash register from a cash purchase. (If you look closely at the amounts on the receipt, it is the correct change.) Kroger doesn't give back loose change now. They credit the change to your shopper plus card and it is applied to the next purchase.

Supposedly there is a coin shortage. I can believe it. There are all kinds of weird shortages in retail.

It's just one hell of an acronym to use today.

Kroger is NOT literally adding BLM charges to receipts. Some dork in IT just selected a horribly obnoxious receipt code.

It's for dealing with returning loose change by crediting the amount to the shopper card. Not a reparations gig.

Although, some may find that practice unacceptable too.

People don't read shit. They just react.

It's humorous how these outrage-at-what-they're-doing threads develop a life of their own based on not reading the fine print. THEY'RE CHARGING FOR BLM WHAAAT OMG REEEE

My original thread title is kind of a giveaway that I wasn't posting it seriously.

I don't recall the original title, maybe I read the first few words and thought "WTF" and clicked on it. You got me there. :)

As for the follow up, "shitposting" was the key word there. Take that word out and there was little indication it was a troll. I must have skimmed over that word or it just didn't register.

Shitposting

by IT guy, Sunday, July 26, 2020, 11:16 (17 days ago) @ Pepe the Programmer

From Wiki:

"Shitposting is posting "aggressively, ironically, and of trollishly poor quality" posts or content to an online forum or social network. Shitposts are intentionally designed to derail discussions or cause the biggest reaction with the least amount of effort possible. Sometimes they are made as part of a coordinated flame war to make the site unusable to its regular
visitors."

I guess I wasn't entirely clear what shitposting meant lol.

Shitposting

I disagree with that definition. That is the definition of trolling not shitposting.

I first saw shitposts tagged on The Donald. Shitposts were always flaired as such. A shitpost was a zero legit content post that was posted with humorous intent. They don't derail or disrupt, but they are more funny than real posts and can simply attract all the attention. In the months leading up to the 2016 election nearly every post there was a shitpost. A funny meme, some stupid obviously false claim made sarcastically, etc.

I agree that OP here made a shitpost. It was simply wrong information mocking some people who were claiming that the change program was BLM donations. That it was mocking was indicated in the title with the "Reeeee" hint.

Yes, yes, yes.

I wasn't being subtle at all.

Like I said, the momentum of people just reacting is interesting to watch. The left doesn't have a corner on this at all.

In the crazy world gone mad we now live in, something like that could actually happen.
