Voting doesn't matter now (reply)

I agree on Greenland and Iran. Consolidating the North American continent is good for the US strategically and geopolitically, threat or no threat, and I don't believe Russia is a threat. Russia wants to consolidate its own territory but NATO is actively countering that. Iran was as unwise as Greenland was wise. Why anyone thought that project would succeed is beyond me. I guess they were acting on wishful-thinking-intel.

To cheer up Pop, I do suspect that Trump was involved in a crypto pump and dump. Certainly, he has reneged on some of his promises.

Now that the US has a security deal with Denmark and Greenland, we can have a strategic military presence there that monitors the Arctic shipping routes. Greenland will support the "Golden Dome" missile defense system. I don't see Russia as a threat either, they're more like a competitor. The US wants to explore Greenland and the Arctic's natural resources and now we're in a good position to do it.

Iran is such a Pandora's box and its a burden economically for the people in the US (and world-wide, really) because of oil prices. It drives up the price for everything. In the end, the only way to defeat Iran is regime change and to get rid of the IRGC, something Trump doesn't want to do, but he may be forced to. There is no way to come to an agreement they will abide by with their current leadership.

Yeah, what Trump did with crypto does look like pump and dump, but I'm surprised Trump would intentionally do something like that knowing he'll be investigated endlessly.

Crypto Pump and Dump (reply)

I wasn't brushing you off, I just never paid much attention to Trump's crypto exploits. I'm not surprised he ventured into crypto. The Trump brand sells, so why not make money? Crypto is very volatile, but what the Trump family did looks scammy. This is from Brave's AI

"World Liberty Financial (WLFI) tokens have suffered a dramatic collapse, falling ~87–88% from their ~$0.46 launch peak to roughly $0.057 by early October 2026. This decline was exacerbated by an April 2026 governance vote that locked retail investors out of selling their holdings until 2030, while the Trump family retained liquidity for their early positions. Despite the price crash, the Trump family received 75% of net proceeds from token sales, contributing to their reported $799 million in 2025 profits.

The $TRUMP meme coin experienced an even steeper implosion, peaking near $70–$74 shortly after its January 2025 launch before collapsing ~97% to trade around $2. While the token itself holds no intrinsic value, Trump earned $635 million through licensing and transaction fees, regardless of price movements. Investors have suffered an estimated $3.8–$4.7 billion in combined losses across Trump-linked crypto assets, with critics describing the structure as a "rug pull" that transferred wealth from later buyers to early insiders.

Recent developments include a November 2026 gala offering top 185 holders a dinner with Trump, which has intensified congressional scrutiny. Senators have demanded an SEC investigation into potential fraud and conflicts of interest, while the Trump family continues to leverage these ventures through exclusive events and token-linked rewards".

Its not a good look for Trump to be involved in something like this. It looks predatory, but I'm sure its legal.

Crypto Pump and Dump (reply)

I do suspect that Trump was involved in a crypto pump and dump. Certainly, he has reneged on some of his promises.

Finally, someone on this board has actually spoken to an opinion I uttered, unlike Jo brushing off every point by ignoring it. I don't know if I can take the excitement.

Here is what you are talking about, and it's well beyond suspicion:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-made-1-billion-on-crypto-deals-while-his-fans-lost-a-fortune/ar-AA2713JL

Basically the ;tldr:

The president raked in cash by issuing new assets—World Liberty tokens and memecoins. But those who bought them at high prices had to suffer as their value went belly up, part of a wider crash in crypto. Political followers and crypto true believers who bought into the Trump brand were left holding the bag. A crypto summer for the president was a crypto winter for them.

Roughly two-thirds of investors in Trump’s memecoin are currently in the red, according to crypto data provider Nansen, which tracks 1.48 million crypto wallets that bought the token since its January 2025 launch. Many fans spent a few thousand on Trump coins while the biggest spenders shelled out millions for the token. Nansen’s analysis of 26,663 wallets shows that 85% of World Liberty’s $WLFI token buyers in the secondary market are underwater.

Trump profited by around $800 million off of rubes who mostly lost most of their investment.

The meme coin was worth ~$0.31 at launch and now trades at about 5 cents.

Voting doesn't matter now (reply)

Getting John McCain this time around would be a relief. The DSA people in the Democrat party are batshit crazy Communists that want to overthrow our government. If you think Trump is bad, wait till you see what happens if they get in power.

The Republicans are a 100 times better than the Communist Democrats. They're sane, for starters, compared to Godless left. There is a clear difference between the right and left now. The Uniparty is gone and what's left is two parties with totally different visions for the country.

Trump has done a lot for this country to reshape its future. He's made some excellent strategic moves for the security of the country. The Greenland security agreement blocks China and Russia from ever establishing a military base there. That's a really big deal for our country in the future. Going into Iran, though, has really screwed up our economy because of high energy prices. Trump miscalculated on how long it would take to defeat Iran.

As expensive as things are now, there is no comparison to the inflation of the Biden/Democrat economy. Trump and the Republicans aren't perfect, but we need to make sure they keep control of Congress and especially the Senate. Not voting at all is a vote for the Democrat Communists

Voting doesn't matter now (reply)

I think that all national level election voting is pointless. No matter who you vote for, you always get John McCain.

Trump has reneged on virtually all of his major campaign promises, and I voted for him because I believed he was golden. For me that was *IT*, the final straw. Fuck this guy, and fuck all of the other guys.

As a general view separated from my bile, both sides play the public against each other as a series of distractions such as wokism or arguing over deviant gender politics. The Republicans are no better than the Democrats because they never build anything or solve anything.

Jo, I know you're so tightly wedded to the right-left paradigm that you don't see the Uniparty for what it is.

You still slavishly believe in this our team/sports team idiocy. I did too up until Trump started to make absolute hash of the direction of the country.

You made a declaration a few posts ago like I was sick in the head or something for hating Trump and made it out like my opinion was therefore untrustworthy.

BULLSHIT Jo. I'll put a finer point on what I think. I think Trump's turned his presidency into the Trump family business. I don't hate Trump actually just as I don't hate Biden and I don't hate Harris and I don't hate Obama. I am indifferent now to whatever lawfare the Dems want to abuse him with in the second half of his term. I don't care about Trump.

I've stopped having "my"people.

Trump does not intend to fix anything. It's stupid if you think he does.

Yes, he's done some good things. But: the national debt is out of control. Prices have and are skyrocketing. We're less secure militarily than ever. Trump's erratic behavior and backtracking has caused every other country to distrust anything the US does and to not trust any negotiation with the US. In terms of diplomacy we are a NUL character, our word now counts for absolutely nothing.

Plus Israel is a wicked ethnostate that virtually dictates American policy and Trump fully complies subverviently with Bibi.

Trump's track record is S! H! I! T!

Voting is important at the local level. At the congressional level and for president all of the agendas are locked in, basically irrespective of what voters want.

Election Integrity and the Midterm elections

I hope that all of the efforts done by the Trump Administration will guarantee a fair election, but it isn't enough if you don't have voter ID and some state DMV's have laws where you get a driver's license and they register you to vote. You have to say you're a US citizen to register, but as long as you check the yes box, you can now vote. Its an honor system, which means nothing today.

The US Senate let every American down by not voting for the SAVE America Act to ensure election integrity. The House passed it several times, but no Democrats and four Republican Senators wouldn't vote for it. Collins, Murkowski, McConnell and Tillis. They've really dealt a blow to the people of this country. Without voter ID, anyone can vote in our elections and they do. Why would any elected official vote against the SAVE America Act?

This might mean the DSA retards will gain control of our Congress and Senate. That is the worst case scenario, especially if we lose the Senate.
