Americans polled on ‘witch hunt’ against Trump

More than six in ten US adults don’t want the former president to win another term, while 75% believe he’s guilty of misconduct

US voters are largely reluctant to buy former President Donald Trump’s claims that he’s the victim of a political “witch hunt,” with most agreeing that the various criminal investigations against him are fair, and over six in ten don’t want him back in the White House, a new poll has revealed.

Nearly half of US voters (46%) believe Trump is guilty of a crime, while an additional 29% say he’s done something unethical, if not illegal, according to an NPR/Marist poll released on Monday. Just 23% are convinced that Trump has done nothing wrong. Even among Republican voters, more than half (53%) believe the former president did something unethical or illegal. A whopping 74% of independents and 64% of white evangelical Christians say he’s committed misconduct or a crime.

What I discern from this:

Mainstream propaganda WORKS.
The constant denigration of Trump has worked very well.
Commonplace lies everyone believes are the norm.
Americans and the public in general are quite gullible and believe narratives.
Nobody, absolutely nobody digs under the surface, or trusts their own instincts without being coached by mainstream shit.

Our country is fucked!

JoFrance and ,ndo both, don't say he can recover or that people will start doing the right thing. I don't buy it at all. He's done.

We're way past any sense of self awareness in this nation. I love MAGA, I love Trump, I believe he uniquely understands how to unravel diplomatic and situational messes. Not a morally impeccable man, but an effective executive. Biden has committed essentially war crimes, treason and economic crimes as well as verifiable fraud and gets a total pass BY THE PEOPLE. \

Fuck the people.

I pray for a painful, damaging, horrific war and economic depression of Biblical proportions that affects primarily the United States. The citizens of this once great nation deserve the worst.

Maybe with great suffering and horrific self inflicted and well deserved pain, our citizens will pull their heads out of their asses.

I see no turnaround. The numbers of our people who test what reality actually comprises are a tiny minority.

We earned it, we deserve it.

Everything you wrote is dead on. I see this all the time. The public is gullible and dumb. Easily led and manipulated by the media.

This is all part of the plan of dumbing down education and the ability to think.

The first question, which you skipped, is whether this poll reflects reality.

The poll says more than six in ten US adults don’t want the former president to win another term. But is this actually true?

The poll is by NPR. To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davies, they would say that.

I missed that because the article was from RT. NPR is as TDS establishment as it gets.

the photo

by Dana, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, 08:09 (366 days ago) @ Cornpop Sutton

In the article:

Members of the news media, protesters and New York State Court Officers are at the front steps of 80 Centre Street on March 20, 2023, in New York City

Look at the photo. The "protestors" are two elderly men. One has long gray hair, the other is clearly a homosexual and a leftist hipster buddhist. And that's it. The protest. With tiny little signs. And dumpy clothes.

Also present, two cops maintaining order at this "protest", and several news crews covering the "protest".

If everyone hates Trump, where are the other protestors?

Instead of "ARREST TRUMP" their signs might as well say "I like coffee" or "Kermit for President".

the placards

by ,ndo, Certifiable!, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, 01:06 (365 days ago) @ Dana

I always look at the signs that are being held up. Are they professionally printed? Yes means astroturfed :) The two in the photo do not look organic.

(1) They are "identical" to each other which wouldn't happen unless the two people lived in the same house or otherwise made their signs together. (2) There is too much black ink. No-one genuine would waste that much ink on a single page. (3) They are larger than A4 (or US Letter). What ordinary person has a printer that size at home.

Not a guarantee of astroturfing but that paper stock is very heavy and expensive.

Hard to believe these people are acting on their own volition.

the placards

by Dana, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, 10:03 (365 days ago) @ ,ndo

Great points. Both signs are printed white on black with the same font and the same size sign which is small but larger than you could print on a home printer. The stock is also glossy, maybe even plastic.

So who printed the signs? Not them!

They show up somewhere, are given the signs and told where to go, and later they show up to get their money. Guy on the left actually looks homeless.

Whoever organized it must have been disappointed no one showed up. The guy on the right was probably the only person to respond to the Craigslist ad, the homeless guy was walking past and added on when only one normal person showed up.

Some liberal/Dem/commie/f@gg@t organization has a warehouse of these placards (as well as other fave cause slogans such as "be as dangerous as CIS males" and "kill a Christian today") and they are mass produced, funded by Soros, and handed out like jellybeans to anyone who wants them.

In other words they aren't a special run, they are the basic supplies used by these individuals.

But great point. It screams astroturfing. Legitimate grass roots demonstrators would have hand made signs.

Yeah that's a good point. We should keep an eye out for your "basic supplies" to see whether they do turn up in multiple protests.

Democrats own the media and they push an anti-Trump narrative 24/7. Fake polls and negative articles all the time, but it isn't true. It doesn't matter because people believe it anyway.

Trump had the first rally of his campaign in Waco, TX. At least 25,000 people were there and thousands more watched online. He's more popular now than before. I watched some of his rally and thought Trump was more serious and very honest about the problems our country faces.

We're in a bad place as a country right now.

NOBODY could have predicted the Stasi like charges and tactics used against J6 protesters. It really surprised me how harsh and totalitarian the treatment was in the next few weeks.

So he probably shrugged or maybe didn't even think about it. I didn't.

And Trump had created his own problems. An 11th hour and 59th minute pardon probably would have been challenged and even overturned, given this lawless administration.

Two things

by Dana, Friday, March 31, 2023, 12:52 (363 days ago) @ Cornpop Sutton

NOBODY could have predicted the Stasi like charges and tactics used against J6 protesters.

I disagree. I predicted on 1/6 - when I saw them smashing in doors with battering rams, attacking police, erecting a gallows to execute the Vice President, etc. - that they would hunt down and imprison many of the people involved. Not all since the crowd was too large.

I had wondered in advance if this outcome might happen given that in the weeks up to 1/6 on patriots.win there were constant posts about violent revolution, guns, and explosives.

Some people were caught up in the excitement and minor charges are appropriate, but this really was an insurrection planned in advance and some of the people went there with the aim of overthrowing the US Government. Others went there and got caught up to the extent they committed serious crimes.

The focus on the tourist level people is somewhat disingenuous and misleading since those people are not the ones being charged.

Is it an "insurrection" when ...

by Cornpop Sutton ⌂, A bad bad dude who makes good shine., Friday, March 31, 2023, 12:55 (363 days ago) @ Dana

Those participating manifestly had no idea what they were doing, absolutely no clue, and absolutely no "opsec"?

The most violent talk and the most vehemence was from idiots who clearly had no idea, no strategy, no plan, no idea, no clue.

When I think of an insurrection I think of something organized with far more brains and planning as well as real inside support.

I look on the so called insurrection as a large scale game of paintball.

Two things

by JoFrance, Friday, March 31, 2023, 18:42 (363 days ago) @ Dana

I wouldn't call it an insurrection. It was a trap for Trump supporters who were largely peaceful. Capital police opened the doors from the inside and encouraged people to go into the capital. The crowd was infiltrated by Antifa dressed as Trump supporters and FBI informants, who encouraged people to go into the capital.

The only guns there belonged to the Capital Police who shot and killed unarmed Ashli Babbett. The Qanon Shaman dressed as a wolf or something was sentenced to 41 months in prison, but the release of the J6 tapes recently showed him being escorted around the Capital, peacefully, by two Capital Police. If he was deemed a threat, they had every chance to arrest him. Instead they acted as tour guides. Tucker Carlsen showed the footage on his show. The Qanon Shaman has since been released from prison to a halfway house.

The Capital police cleared away a lot of the barriers so people could enter the building. Most of the crowd just walked in and took pictures. Sure there were some people that were bad actors, but many of them were Antifa and the FBI.

This was definitely planned by none other than Nancy Pelosi, who denied deploying the National Guard before Jan. 6 after Trump recommended it. It was entrapment for Trump supporters.

The people that were there just wanted to protest the stolen election and hoped to convince Pence with their presence to reject the electors from several states that had fraudulent elections. There was no organized plan to overthrow the government.

What should have been done?

I get your point. But what recourse did they have, assuming the election was stolen (I don't know that for a fact, just going along with the premise).

I mean if protesting is wrong, what should have they done?

Wrote letters to the legislators or judges?

by JoFrance, Saturday, April 01, 2023, 19:17 (362 days ago) @ dictum

We have to depend on our representatives in Congress to stand up for the people. Peaceful protesting is our right. The Trump supporters wanted to make their presence known at the Capital to inspire Pence to have the courage to reject electors if a state did not run their election properly and according to state law. What he should have done is sent the iffy results back to the state to rectify before he certified it. There was plenty of time to do it and it was within his power.

Pelosi should have allowed the National Guard to be deployed at the Capitol ahead of time as Trump recommended. Really, why did the Capitol Police open the doors and walk people around the building? Why did they remove barriers to the building? I think it was to entrap them and then label them insurrectionists to be used for political purposes.

There you go, being logical Jo. The plutocrats don't use logic, they use We will do what we want and you will do what we want. Logic is anathema to them. That's why they interfere maliciously with kids' education such that the kids don't come anywhere near learning how to think for themselves.

Its abundantly clear that the Plutocrats have co-opted our government. They've destroyed our way of life from top to bottom in America using corrupt politicians that have been bought out. We have to just keep fighting them and can never give up. It's a tough fight but we're gonna win. Bastards.

Peaceful protesting is our right.

Isn't that what they did? Hasn't that already been tried - and failed?

It was for the most part peaceful, the Shaman dude being escorted around by police.. It wasn't an ANTIFA even where they burn things to the ground.

Peaceful protests are now impossible. Gulag cooperates with the Alphabets and they track your location down to 1 meter.

Lose your phone and wear a mask. You know, Antifa-style.

That was precisely from the script of "The Art of War", or was it from the "Prince", i.e. "Never do your enemy a minor injury".

I can't believe how the J6ers have been treated in the DC gulag. They are political prisoners, some with no due process at all. One person, I think his name is Jake Lang, has been imprisoned for 800 days with no trial. Other prisoners are beaten and tortured in so many ways. This is America today under Biden. The Constitution has been suspended and the New (Nazi) World Order is now in charge.

All Trump did was have a rally on the day . Yes, it was a bad idea, but it doesn't excuse the inhumane treatment of the J6ers in the DC gulag.
