Another factor in lack of quality in maintenance, assembly and services (Public Board)

You sound like my dad when you talk about being out in public. He has complained about the same. I am guessing that you have noticed a significant increase of people over time? Overpopulation is an issue that nobody brings up or wants to address.

You brought up the workplace. I must admit I'm guilty of that sometimes - sacrificing quality for speed. Here's the deal. When management tends to hire people for reasons having nothing to do with merit, there are so many people brought into companies that don't know how to do anything other than talk. There are an excessive number of PM types, product managers, managers, etc. There are not enough people around to handle the grunt work so these groups tend to be shorthanded and overworked which leads to the pressure to produce more which increases the # of mistakes. It's a vicious cycle.
