Apparently when the engine covers blew off it was a ground crew maintenance issue. The plane had been in service several years.

Do airline ground crews get hired by DEI now?

I assume a smaller entity like an airport hires whomever it needs and DEI pressure on an airport is not as much as on a major corporation.

I hold to my premise that "people today" are distracted and inattentive and that this is as plausible a reason for such failures as DEI.

Also, why has nobody mentioned this event?
