Beef and dairy cattle, along with other farm animals, are a major source of methane
I knew this was wrong from when I was involved in this work more than thirty years ago. That was when actual scientists were researching cow burps. They had already found that cow farts were not a significant source of atmospheric methane (and had moved on to burps).
Finding data these days is not easy. I did find this, though, which together says that cattle account for 12% of methane emissions. "Major source" my arse.
"Global methane (CH4) emissions produced by enteric fermentation in cattle were estimated at 73 million metric tons in 2020."

"the most recent comprehensive estimate [in 2020] suggests that annual global methane emissions are around 570 million tonnes (Mt)."
