Skeptical if I would want to. For me it's a huge convenience when I'm shopping or traveling, being able to look up prices or find stuff in the vicinity. The onboard camera has become an extension of my curiosity - I constantly take pictures as a record of something I run across, and I can scan bar codes and look up products without having to track down a sales droid.

Before I carried a smart phone everywhere I organized my life somewhat differently. Basically, most situations where I needed information when I was away from home or my office were extremely frustrating.

As far as the time suck factor, I can put the phone away when circumstances demand. The main motive I see with the dumb phone adopters is they can't wean themselves off of social media or video sites. I see that as a broader mental health challenge and a weakness in modern people to be able to back burner useless distractions.

The main problem I see with most normies using phones is that they have no common sense or sense of proportion - they think it's acceptable to run into other shoppers or block lanes because they're absorbed in their stupid assed phone. In real life the main aggravation of cellphones is inattentive stupid people who focus on their phone constantly. I guess if one fits that description, you need a simplistic device to go cold turkey. But the flip phone doesn't cure the inattentive slug who won't pay attention to where they are.
